2008 Family Reunion (A.P.T.) Provo, Utah

All my children and grandchildren came to Provo to attend Casey's graduation. I spent the week there helping to clean the apartment and pack for Casey's and Jenna's move to California. Casey did a great job stacking the boxes to the ceiling.

Casey and J. Daryl were having a fun time juggling. They were both very talented.

The boys had a little break for some wiffle ball and had a fun time! Casey's pitching - Jason at bat - Nate at short-spot. Just like little league days!

Lunch at Kneaders is always superb! Beautiful smiles on Ashley, Jason, and cute Paisley!

What a cute expression on Weston!

Other activities for the week included: shopping at the BYU bookstore, breakfast at Magelby's, dinner at Costa Vida, Little Caesar's pizza, movie at the $1 theater, breakfast with my nephew Malcolm from Pennsylvania (who's leaving on a mission to Arizona this summer), and shopping at the BYU bookstore again!

It was a fabulous time!

BYU Sports Museum Tour - April 25, 2008

Just before the graduation ceremony, Casey was tutoring one of BYU's athletes. We took a tour while waiting for him to finish. This was not your normal tour as we were lucky enough to get a tour also from "behind the scenes."

The sports museum is several stories high with memorabilia all the way around each floor. Our tour guide had one interesting story after another to share with us.......
Each season each football player draws a picture of what motivates them. These drawings are posted on the wall for the athletes to see in the room where they have team meetings.

This map of the world shows where all the current athletes have served missions.

This is a BYU basketball player's shoe with Jenna's shoe in comparison.

This is Morris' hand compared to a BYU basketball player's hand. What a difference considering Morris' hand is not small.

This is Jenna standing in front of the shadow of Shawn Bradley's actual size. I think Shawn is 7 ft. 6 inches.

Casey was kind enough to let me take this picture. The tour guide said this BYU football player will be a "Sunday player." Of course I didn't know what that meant but learned that it meant the football player would be on a professional team for the NFL because he is extremely talented. I will be watching for him and I'll put his name here as soon as Casey gives me the correct spelling.

This is a picture of Casey and Matt, one of his favorite athletes to tutor. I think he is also a BYU football player.

This is a room where all the huge BYU financial donors get to come. The chairs were very comfortable and the table quite large. I'm sure this will be the only opportunity I have to be in this special room!
It was a great tour!

Inspired by the Professional

I saw some of Jason's photos from an airplane flight and decided to see how well I could do on my last flight to Salt Lake City. My abilities and equipment are far beneath Jason's but I wanted to share a couple of my photos.

I loved looking out the airplane window - high above all the clouds................ A sea of clouds.............

It was really interesting to see the cities below from the air. I was amazed at how many squares there were looking down.

This is a picture going over the Rocky Mountains - majestic and still covered with snow in the end of April 2008!

At this point I was close to Salt Lake City and became lost in thought that I would soon be seeing my #1 grandson for the first time! I failed to take a picture of Salt Lake City as we landed - maybe next time......

Baby Blessings in Farmington, Utah on April 27, 2008

Both Paisley and Weston were blessed during the same Sacrament Meeting on April 27th in Farmington, Utah. Casey blessed Weston Douglas Tanner first. Jason blessed Paisley Lynn Tanner next.

Both grandmas on their mothers' side got the darling little outfits for the blessing day. Paisley is so cute in her beautiful white dress and Weston so handsome in his white tux. They look like a little bride and groom! Paisley is approximately 6 weeks older than Weston.
This is a picture of Ashley's mom, Merry Lyn holding Paisley with Ashley's aunt Judy on the left. Paisley's middle name "Lynn" was named after her grandmother, Merry Lyn.
This is a picture of Casey and Jenna with Jenna's parents, Doug and Sabrina. Weston's middle name, Douglas is after his grandfather, Doug Pitt, who is holding him.

What a cute picture of Paisley and Weston! They had a long day!

Casey's BYU Graduation (4/08) BS & MS Degrees

Casey graduated from Brigham Young University on April 25, 2008 with a combination bachelors and masters degrees in accounting with an emphasis in tax. Casey will be working in Roseville, California, for Ernst & Young (www.ey.com).

Cute little Weston was born just a month before Casey's graduation. I just love this cute blanket.

Casey and Jenna have worked hard during their years at BYU. Casey has worked as much as 32 hours a week while going to BYU full-time. Jenna has also worked full-time since her graduation and part-time before her graduation. I am really proud of them for their decisions financially, and educationally. Casey has also had two internships before graduating. The first internship was in Portland with KPMG and the second in San Diego with Deloitte. I was really hoping they would love the weather of the northwest but it just didn't compare to California for them.

I just love the beautiful spring flowers in Provo!

All of Casey's accounting and business courses were in the N. Eldon Tanner building. Casey spent a lot of time in this building attending classes, studying, and also tutoring BYU's athletes in accounting in this building.

I had to get a photo of Casey and Jenna in front of the cougar since they are devoted BYU sports fans.

It was thrilling for me to have all of my children and grand- children together for Casey's graduation.

Casey looks happy, relieved, and satisfied that he's done! He did great!

Jason started the tradition of me visiting Provo twice a year. Attending the Homecoming Spectacular every September/October has been so fun! I will miss my trips to Utah.

CONGRATULATIONS to Casey and Jenna for their success! They left Provo with 2 bachelors degrees, 1 masters degree, 1 new baby, and lots of wonderful memories with many new friends.

A Snow/Sleet Storm in April 2008

We had a surprising storm (Vancouver) in between some warmer days. It was so beautiful to see the storm as I looked out the windows of my house! This picture was taken at 5 pm when it appears to be dusk but the darkness is only from the storm. Even in April I was ready for spring!

(I'm eager for spring still today - 5/4/08. Today was a surprising 71 degrees but we still have mostly 60 degree weather in the forecast for the rest of the week! This was a beautiful day today and I enjoyed a 4 mile walk with my wonderful friend Mo. We enjoy the nice days when they come!)

Easter 2008 - Rainy Vancouver, Washington

It was a rainy day and chilly on Easter this year. Nate and Misty hid Easter eggs in the wet grass in my back yard but Adalei wasn't interested in the eggs enough to go get them in the chilly afternoon. So Nate and Misty ended up finding the eggs they had hidden. Some of the eggs had candy and the special egg had a picture of Jesus. I was so impressed when Misty talked to Adalei about Jesus being the most important part of Easter and told her the story.
We had salmon for Easter dinner and a white cake with chocolate icing for dessert. Now, this cake doesn't look that great but Misty will agree with me that the cake was absolutely delicious! I was so excited to "buy" this cake at an Enrichment night auction. (I received points from completing a questionnaire.) I was excited to have an Easter cake and not need to make one myself!
This is a picture of Nate, Misty, Adalei, and Brielle relaxing in my family room after Easter dinner.

Brielle
having some "tummy time"!

Brielle
can roll from stomach to back which is what she just did right before I took the picture so that's why she's partly off the blanket. (Now she can roll from back to stomach also.)
