Can you believe Adalei is four years old? (9/09)

Adalei is just growing up into a beautiful girl. She is so smart and so kind. I really enjoy being around her. Misty made a delicious chocolate cake with her specialty icing that we all love very much.

This first picture is Adalei deciding what her birthday wish will be for this birthday! Isn't she just cute?

Adalei was having fun bouncing on her kitty ball with her dad. Adalei and Brielle both love bouncing.

Opening birthday gifts......

You can tell by her smiles that she loves her gifts.

We had to wait to open the rest of her gifts after she opened a book with stickers!

Opening a gift from mom and dad.............

New shoes! She loves them!

Grandma found her cute pajamas with princesses on them.

Crayons

and

princess coloring book...

Bubble bath was a hit.....

Adalei was excited with a new soccer ball from her mom and dad.

Yum!

Adalei's new pajamas looked way big when she held them up but they were size 4. When she tried them on we were surprised that they fit her perfectly!

Adalei was happy as she went to bed after her birthday party!

The reason.....................

Actually there were 2 reasons I went to California to celebrate my birthday!

#1. When Jenna and Weston were here taking care of me after my surgery, I was looking in a cookbook and told Jenna that the Chocolate Ganache cake was my favorite. She said she would make it for me if I came to California for my birthday and she did! It looks and also tasted like a professional bakery cake. I loved every morsel! Thanks Jenna for a delicious dinner and my fabulous birthday cake!

I just love this picture of cute Weston signing "more" with his little hands! That's the way I felt about that cake! It was great!

#2. The other reason I went to visit California was to see all my family - Jason, Ashley, Paisley, Charity, Jenna, Casey, and Weston! It was great beyond words to spend a long weekend with them and to celebrate my birthday.

I don't have any pictures of my awesome birthday gifts but I want to acknowledge them anyhow. My family was so kind and generous to give me a special birthday party.

Charity gave me a Coach purse! and it had 2 Nike shirts in it for working out at the gym. This purse is awesome. I never even dreamed I'd have a purse like that some day! She has left me speechless.

Jason and Ashley always know exactly what I need. They gave me a fabulous new suitcase that is bigger than my old one that was more than worn out. They also gave me a perfect tote for my laptop. These gifts are just perfect! I've shopped for both but haven't been able to find what I wanted. It was so nice to get them for my birthday.

Casey and Jenna got me a gift that was on my "want" list but I couldn't find one just like I wanted so I took it off my list! So it was a BIG surprise when a box arrived with my birthday gift - a cookbook holder (easel). It is especially awesome because it is European (French) and fits perfectly with all the little French bakers I have in my kitchen. I was so excited to get it.

Thanks to everyone for a super fun birthday and one that I will long remember! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Casey/Jenna's New Apartment and Casey's Office Location

Casey and Jenna moved to a new apartment on Roseville Parkway to decrease their expenses. I really like their new apartment. Here's a picture of Jenna and Weston leaving to have lunch with Casey.

This is the building Casey works in. I've never seen his office on the top floor but maybe some day.

Casey just looks so happy.

It was fun to see them have lunch together.

Weston especially enjoyed running around and climbing on the rocks.

I sure love my #1 grandson! He is so wonderful!

Birthday Celebration - Day 2 in California

When I bought my flight to California, I didn't realize that I was intruding on plans to watch a BYU football game. I thought it was so cute that everyone was dressed in BYU colors - even Paisley and Weston. BYU won the game so everyone was happy!

Paisley and Weston were very entertained as they played under the table together. They are just as cute as can be!

Jenna was sweeping the kitchen and Weston wanted her to chase him with the broom. He was laughing and having a great time.

We had a good time being together, playing, and I took lots of pictures.

Paisley has a great time with Jason's ipod touch. I wonder how soon she'll be wanting one of her own??

My Birthday Trip to California - September 2009

I was so excited to tend Paisley while her mom and dad had a dr appt. Paisley was so excited to go outside so we spent much of our time on the balcony. She had some water in a bucket and had a great time with it. In both of these pictures, Paisley has a little wipe that she is using to wash her little rocking horse and everything else that was on the balcony. It was so cute seeing her clean!

Also, I noticed that she tends to use her left hand. So I'm wondering if she is going to be left-handed. My mother is the only family member I know that is left-handed.

Don't you just love her cute hair! She's very fashionable with her hair hovering over her eyes! A cute princess!

Princess Paisley thought it would be more fun to sit in the driver's seat instead of her car seat. She was pretty happy checking out Charity's things for a few minutes. She just made me laugh.

We went to "Tahoe Joe's" for dinner my first night there. I just love their chicken nachos. We had a good time although Weston and Paisley were a bit restless and Jason took them outside to play while I enjoyed my yummy birthday cake. I couldn't eat it all at once and no one was willing to help me so I had to take home leftovers and finished them the next day. You'll notice that "Tahoe Joe" is skiing down my piece of cake!

After dinner, we went back to Jason/Ashley's and played wii. Weston was so entertaining. He sat right beside his dad and was just adorable as he copied his dad. He was cheering and clapping and as excited as his dad was. So cute! I just don't know how to explain it any better but it was so fun to watch Weston.

That was the end of day 1 in California celebrating my birthday!

Celebrating on my Birthday!

This picture was taken on my actual birthday. I returned from California the day before so this is my new haircut after one day. I think my cut was for the California climate as you can see how frizzy my hair is from the damp, rainy weather here.

I had lunch at work with a couple of friends and then Misty made my favorites for dinner! I was so excited. She made my favorite - Japanese - a recipe Nate brought home from his mission. Then she made the best little lava cakes and we had them with 'death by chocolate' ice cream. It was divine!! What an enjoyable evening of my delicious favorites!

Nate, Misty, Adalei and Brielle gave me this beautiful water bottle for my birthday. I had been looking for one to buy so this was a perfect gift! Thanks to them! (I love purple and the design reminds me of Japan which went right along with my special dinner.)

One more year has come and gone!

"The Christmas Cottage" DVD (2008)

This is an excellent movie. Especially for those that have been to Placerville, California. It was very interesting and tells the true story as to how Thomas Kinkade became known as the "Painter of Light." I highly recommend this movie to everyone. You can see info on it at the following:

Misty's Shower 9/17/09 (It's a boy!)

This was the best baby shower I've been to. It was fun. Most of these pictures need no explanation. There were a lot of friendly women, lots of chocolate, baby t-shirts to decorate, and 3 fun games! The women were very generous with their gifts. I think my new grandson will have wonderful clothes to wear for more than a year!

Susan and Kayla got the award for best t-shirts. The t-shirt I did said "I love grandma!" Susan and Kayla were more creative and more artistic!

Kayla even won a prize for being the closest to guess Misty's waist size and weight!

The blue wipe container was the most impressive gift given. Everyone commented on it. This gift was from Ashley, Jason, and Paisley along with some cute clothes.

The little green bag was from me - one of three gifts (2 previously given). Plus I have already given unlimited babysitting. :)

Every time I get a phone call from Nate or Misty, I'm wondering if it's to announce that the baby is on his way. Two weeks to go but it could be any day now! I'm so excited to see him!

2009 Misty's Birthday #32

I was excited to be invited to Misty's birthday party. She choose Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. They were so kind and even paid for my dinner. We had a good time and enjoyed the special menu with food from Greece. The girls were so good in the restaurant - quiet and no messes! I was impressed.
After dinner, we went back to Nate/Misty's house to open gifts and then the girls got ready for bed. They all look so happy in his picture above. I gave Misty scrap booking supplies and Nate surprised her with piano lessons! She is really doing a good job on the piano already.
Nate really loved this picture because you can see all the smoke from blowing out the candles.
Nate and Misty together made the birthday cake - yummy carrot/zucchini cake! Nate placed the candles for "32." I thought he did a good job.
When we got back to the house, Adalei was missing so Nate and I returned to the car. Boy were we surprised to see Adalei sitting on top of the car just waiting to be noticed. She had the biggest grin on her face. I was so surprised that she stood on the car seat and climbed up there herself. When Brielle saw what Adalei was doing, Brielle made an attempt to follow her big sister.
This was the funniest picture! After Adalei was on top of the car, Nate decided he better close the sun roof. As he was doing that, little Brielle decided to hold his door shut so he couldn't get out. She was laughing and having a good time. Of course Nate didn't want to push too hard and cause her to fall down so it wasn't easy for him to get out especially after Adalei decided to join in the fun and help her sister hold the door shut also.

These little girls are just so precious. I think Misty had a good birthday party! I certainly enjoyed being there. What fun memories I have of this day!

If you know someone with depression, this is really good information!

Good Morning, Heartache
