Another shot of Elijah Nathan Tanner!

This little guy is so snugly. I just love to hold him.

He sleeps through many pokes and screams from his happy sisters.

I am amazed at his features and facial expressions - he already reminds me a lot of Nate! It is so fun to have a little Nate Jr!

Adalei's birthday activity - Nate's race day! 9/26/09

Nate told Adalei she could have a birthday activity after her birthday. I was sure surprised when her selection was to watch him run a race. I never did hear the list of what her other choices were - perhaps she only had one choice?

I can't remember how long this race was. I think it was 5k but I could be wrong.

I didn't get a picture before or at the start of the race.

These first two pictures are at the half way point and Nate was doing great! Near the front of the group and moving quite fast!

This is the end of the race. Nate was pushing himself as hard as he could. The sun was so bright that I couldn't see his time but Nate or Misty can tell you what it was. I just know that he really did great. I didn't get a good shot of the actual finish line....

He has his shirt off and it's just over his shoulders....












Now this picture shows you what a wonderful wife Misty is to Nate. After he crossed the finish line, he started throwing up. I gladly stayed with the girls and Misty went to give him some support. You may not be able to tell but he was throwing up as I took this picture.














It was just a couple of minutes and Nate was headed to the refreshment table for some water and something to eat.


















Just a couple more minutes and Nate was smiling and ready to think about his next race!

Surprise!!!!!!!! October 19, 2009 at 2:18 am

I'm so excited that I can't go back to sleep! Ashley's water broke around 4 pm last night. I was so excited that I couldn't wait to hear the news and see his picture so I stayed up till midnight and now I'm too excited to go back to sleep.

My new grandson is named Spencer Romney Tanner. He is almost 3 weeks early so it was a surprise! Just 6 days after little Elijah! Spencer is 6 lb 2 oz. These two will be almost like twins!

I have to tell you about his name because I just love his name. "Spencer" is from Spencer W. Kimball. "Romney" is from Ashley's mother's maiden name and also after Marion G. Romney. (Ashley's maternal family line is related to Mitt Romney - a bit distant.) And of course, Tanner is his last name. When President Kimball was the prophet, his counselors were Marion G. Romney and N. Eldon Tanner so all three from that First Presidency are in baby Spencer's name. I thought that was so clever and so cute. Little Spencer is named after one prophet, two apostles, and the Romney maternal family line!

I can hardly wait to see him and hold him. I won't be in California until the day after Thanksgiving so I have a long wait ahead of me! I'm so happy that Spencer and Ashley are both doing well.

One more grandson on the way - March 2010 when Jenna and Casey have their next baby. Then I don't think I'll have another grandchild for about two years! (but I could be wrong......)

The name......

My new grandson's name is Elijah Nathan Tanner. Adalei chose his name "Elijah" and Brielle agreed. Misty and Nate chose his middle name "Nathan."

"Nathan" comes from the Tanner tradition for the father's name to be a middle name of a son. For example, Rex Tanner had a son Milo Rex; Milo Rex named his son Nathan Milo and now Nathan Milo named his son Elijah Nathan. I had not noticed this before but Misty realized it and told me that's why his middle name would be Nathan. I haven't looked at the family history records to see if it goes further back than Nate's grandfather or not. Misty may know.

"Baby Brother" is here! 10/13/09

Baby brother arrived tonite around 6:45 pm, 7 lbs. 4 oz, 18 inches. He doesn't have a name yet so we are just calling him baby brother still. His middle name will be Nathan but that's all I know so far. __________ Nathan Tanner.

Adalei and Brielle were so excited to go to the hospital to see their new baby brother tonite. They just kept talking about him all the way to the hospital.

Adalei wanted to hold him all the time except when she was eating a cookie. She really did a good job of holding him. I really liked her expression when she held him and saw him for the first time.









I was surprised little baby brother didn't cry from Brielle's pats on his face but he seemed to like them! That's good because he'll probably be getting a lot of them.

Misty looks great! You can't even tell she just had a baby. She said she was tired. She was at the hospital for 1.5 hours before the baby arrived.

This is my #2 grandson and #5 grandchild. I am a happy grandmother tonite!

Tucking in the Sweethearts! (September 2009)

Doesn't cute little Brielle look just like a darling doll in her bed? She is out of the crib and gets in bed herself and she stays there. She likes to be covered up. She is just absolutely adorable. I think two years old is my favorite age! She is so fun!



She's excited for baby brother to take over the crib - any day now......................



Cute Adalei in her new bunk bed.... She has the bottom bunk. She's so cute too and loves her purple fluffs with her purple blanket.

Look at Brielle's little hacky sack- she likes this blanket and this hacky sack when she goes to bed. If you can't find the hacky sack, she does accept a ball as a substitute! She's wonderful! She is the easiest little one I've ever put to bed! (Nate and Misty must have a secret on how to get her to bed without crying.................)

Can you believe Adalei is four years old? (9/09)

Adalei is just growing up into a beautiful girl. She is so smart and so kind. I really enjoy being around her. Misty made a delicious chocolate cake with her specialty icing that we all love very much.

Adalei's new pajamas looked way big when she held them up but they were size 4. When she tried them on we were surprised that they fit her perfectly!

The reason.....................

Actually there were 2 reasons I went to California to celebrate my birthday!

#1. When Jenna and Weston were here taking care of me after my surgery, I was looking in a cookbook and told Jenna that the Chocolate Ganache cake was my favorite. She said she would make it for me if I came to California for my birthday and she did! It looks and also tasted like a professional bakery cake. I loved every morsel! Thanks Jenna for a delicious dinner and my fabulous birthday cake!

I just love this picture of cute Weston signing "more" with his little hands! That's the way I felt about that cake! It was great!

#2. The other reason I went to visit California was to see all my family - Jason, Ashley, Paisley, Charity, Jenna, Casey, and Weston! It was great beyond words to spend a long weekend with them and to celebrate my birthday.

I don't have any pictures of my awesome birthday gifts but I want to acknowledge them anyhow. My family was so kind and generous to give me a special birthday party.

Charity gave me a Coach purse! and it had 2 Nike shirts in it for working out at the gym. This purse is awesome. I never even dreamed I'd have a purse like that some day! She has left me speechless.

Jason and Ashley always know exactly what I need. They gave me a fabulous new suitcase that is bigger than my old one that was more than worn out. They also gave me a perfect tote for my laptop. These gifts are just perfect! I've shopped for both but haven't been able to find what I wanted. It was so nice to get them for my birthday.

Casey and Jenna got me a gift that was on my "want" list but I couldn't find one just like I wanted so I took it off my list! So it was a BIG surprise when a box arrived with my birthday gift - a cookbook holder (easel). It is especially awesome because it is European (French) and fits perfectly with all the little French bakers I have in my kitchen. I was so excited to get it.

Thanks to everyone for a super fun birthday and one that I will long remember! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Casey/Jenna's New Apartment and Casey's Office Location

Casey and Jenna moved to a new apartment on Roseville Parkway to decrease their expenses. I really like their new apartment. Here's a picture of Jenna and Weston leaving to have lunch with Casey.









This is the building Casey works in. I've never seen his office on the top floor but maybe some day.

It was fun to see them have lunch together.










Weston especially enjoyed running around and climbing on the rocks.

Birthday Celebration - Day 2 in California

When I bought my flight to California, I didn't realize that I was intruding on plans to watch a BYU football game. I thought it was so cute that everyone was dressed in BYU colors - even Paisley and Weston. BYU won the game so everyone was happy!







































Paisley and Weston were very entertained as they played under the table together. They are just as cute as can be!







Jenna was sweeping the kitchen and Weston wanted her to chase him with the broom. He was laughing and having a great time.











We had a good time being together, playing, and I took lots of pictures.





Paisley has a great time with Jason's ipod touch. I wonder how soon she'll be wanting one of her own??
