Allison's Butterfly Birthday Party! (April 2013)

The birthday party decorations included butterflies and flowers.
Jenna made a delicious lunch with yummy sandwiches and an edible fruit bouquet.
Family waiting for the party to start.
Just chatting....
Allison was the cutest butterfly on her first birthday!
Jenna made a lovely and delicious ribbon birthday cake for Allison.
It was windy and not easy to light the candle.
Allison was very interested in her birthday cake!
She went for it right away.
She just needed a little help.
Then she was ready for more.
She was not messy at all.
Look at that cute face!
Checking out the cake some more.....

A little icing on her face....
Looking around....
Looking around....
Getting ready for another bite....
Yum!
She took her time and enjoyed her icing.
Another dainty bite...
You can't even tell she's been eating this cake yet.
A big bite?
Isn't she just so sweet?
Getting ready for another bite....
Looking around....
Another bite....
And another....
Now Jenna has the fork so she's going to help her get past the icing and get to the cake!
Now she's really looking at the cake and checking it out to see what's under the icing.
She was ready for a big bite with the fork.
There she goes!
Allison was so happy!
Now she's eating the cake by herself!
Signs of the cake on her face at last.....
She had more help than she needed opening birthday presents.
Mary and Rob, her neighbors, got her this cute toy for her birthday.
Pushing the car for fun........
Putting together the shopping cart I got Allison for her birthday!
She loves her little shopping cart!

Weston was such a good big brother and was playing with her.
It was a wonderful day and I was so excited to be there for Allison's first birthday party.
Jenna made cute butterfly favors and had a great party.  This butterfly is so cute!  This was one happy grandma at the end of the day to have been there from beginning to end!  Happy Birthday to Allison!
Below, Allison and Audrey are so cute with their pacifiers in the shopping cart together!

Today

My mom left early this morning.  I was sad to see her go.  She was here the last 6 days so she could go to GP for an emergency dental visit.  Randy drove us and my futon to GP.  It was quite the trip.  My mom needed her second implant.  It was fun to see Nate and family even though I had just been there recently.  Adalei and Brielle colored all day and did art work.  I didn't get to spend much time with the grandkids.  We were there less than a day.  We brought back a box spring that got wet from the rain.  Other than the trip to GP, we just hung out at Randy's and held Claire's new baby, Juliet.  I made a cobbler with Randy's gooseberries that was really good.  Mom did go to church with me and spent a few nights with me.  I took her to the airport this morning.  I probably won't see her again until next spring.

Celebrating Weston's Birthday at Easter Dinner! (March)

Jenna and Casey hosted Easter dinner since Allison was born on Easter last year and they didn't get to serve the Easter dinner they had planned.  I was excited to be there not only for Easter but for Weston's birthday also.  Jenna set the table so nice with the napkins and the name plates.  They were so cute and so creative!  I was really impressed!  I loved the candy too!
We had a delicious strawberry salad!
These deviled eggs were amazing!
I think Ashley made these yummy rolls and some other dishes for our dinner.
Jenna made these cute little paper bags with grass and eggs with candy for the kids.  Of course, they were all thrilled!
Our Easter table looked like a picture out of a Martha Stewart magazine.  The drink was not only lovely but delicious also.  Everything was great - a delicious ham dinner!
The kids enjoyed their Easter dinner also.
Jenna made carrot cupcakes and white chocolate covered strawberries.  Both were divine and looked as well as tasted professionally made.
Spencer was patiently waiting to have a cupcake.
Weston got to blow out his candle 5 times since he was five years old and only had one candle.
one, two,
three, four,
and five!
We all enjoyed Easter dessert and Weston's birthday cupcakes!
Then Weston had fun opening his birthday presents.
He had lots of help opening his gifts.
Later, they smashed Easter eggs for fun.  (It was a game.)
Then they played on the floor with the egg shells....
making angels in the eggs shells like you do in the snow....
Weston playing with the toys I got him for his birthday!
Another Easter egg hunt in the dark and a fun time opening the eggs to get candy and prizes!
Audrey peeking at the kids from the high chair.
What a beautiful Easter day we had!  It was a day full of activities from beginning to end.  I was so glad I could be there and enjoy spending time together with my family.  I was disappointed that Charity had to work and we didn't get to see her over the weekend.  Otherwise, it was a perfect weekend.  Charity was really missed.  Thanks to Jenna and Ashley for a delicious Easter dinner!
