Tillamook/Cape Meares, Oregon - July 1, 2015

While Jason worked at Intel, Ashley and I drove to Tillamook early.  I always love to go to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
This car was new and I loved the "YUM" license plate.
Spencer and Paisley posed for this picture with their faces for the cow and the farmer.
Paisley loved sampling the ice cream.
I loved all the cheese samples and we went through twice.
Audrey was so cute wanting to buy lots of things.
We also went to the Blue Heron Cheese Factory and sampled brie cheese there.  It was so good.  I bought cheese at both places.
We went to the Fish Peddler for dinner.  Paisley is standing in the picture.  This is the #1 rated seafood place on the Oregon coast.
Here's a picture of my fish tacos.
Jason got a sampler and voted the crab cakes the best part.
We didn't get to go to the Children's Museum so I bought each of the kids a toy.  Spencer loved his legos.
I just love the beach at sunset.
This was the picture of the lake out our kitchen window behind the rental house.
This is a view of the ocean out the front windows.  This location was great with views in front and behind us.
Near the Fish Peddler, we saw these mounds of sea shells.
Emme was having fun.
We walked on the beach as the sun set.  Ashley saw a deer 15 feet from her but we didn't get a picture.  It was so relaxing and lovely.

OMSI and Salvador Molly's, Portland, Oregon - June 30, 2015

While Jason worked, Ashley and I took the kids to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) in Portland.  Ashley took this cute picture of Paisley playing with Emme.
Paisley balanced the balls on the streams of water.
Paisley kept busy with learning activities.
Spencer and Audrey spent a long time playing in the sand.
Spencer balanced a ball on air coming up out of the cone.
Spencer wants to be a dinosaur scientist and really enjoyed the dinosaur room.
Spencer kept saying, "take a picture of me."
He wanted a picture by every dinosaur.
Spencer, Paisley, and Audrey had fun playing in the water/sand.
They worked hard exercising to make the screen move for a message.
Paisley painted this picture and said it was the most fun part of being at OMSI.
Spencer enjoyed the fish.
Spencer also loved this snake in the Ripley's Believe It or Not room.
This camel is made with toys from the 70s.
Paisley and Audrey playing in the water with sail boats.
Spencer had fun with a paddle boat.
Emme had a couple of minutes that she escaped from being held.  She was so good and just so sweet.
Paisley enjoyed watching this machine draw designs.  I was surprised she didn't say this was her favorite part of OMSI.
After OMSI, we met Jason for dinner at Salvador Molly's.  We had a delicious dinner.  While we waited to eat, there were peanuts to shell and eat.  Spencer had a fun time opening his peanuts with a knife and didn't want to stop when his dinner came.
After dinner, Ashley and I stopped at Salt & Straw to pick up ice cream to go.  Parking was difficult and a long line out the door prevented Jason from tasting some of the favors.  Ashley and I were able to get served before the line got long so we just took it to go.  It was so good.  I had ice cream with goats milk and ligonberries.  Yum!

Road Trip to Vancouver, Washington, and Fun in Portland, Oregon, and Ape Cave Near Mt. St. Helens, Washington - June 28-29, 2015

We drove from Kalispell to my house, which was a 9 or 10 hour drive.  On the way we stopped at East Wind Drive-in for ice cream cones in Cascade Locks, Oregon.  Jason got a large size.
Jason wanted chocolate and Ashley wanted vanilla so they made it a swirl.  It was really a fun break!  The kids got ice cream cones like at Disneyland - Paisley had blue goo, Audrey had strawberry, and Spencer had chocolate.
Then we stopped at Multnomah Falls for a restroom break and a walk up to the upper bridge.
Earlier in the day we stopped for lunch at Meltz Extreme Grilled Cheese in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and they were delicious!
We got to my house before 10 pm after stopping at Mod Pizza to pick up our individual pizzas.  They were delicious!
On Monday, Ashley and I took the kids to the Portland Aquarium while Jason worked from my house.  Here's a picture of Paisley, Spencer, and Audrey at the aquarium.
They had fun touching the fish in the water.
Spencer was the first one the birds wanted to sit on.
 Ashley was the second target.
Spencer seemed to enjoy the birds.
 Paisley was next!
I'm not sure Audrey was thrilled to have a bird on her head!
 I love Paisley's smile.
Spencer loved the lorikeets!  He said they were his favorite part of the aquarium.
Even Emme wanted to check out the birds.
The kids had fun watching the stingrays.
They watched for a long time.
There's a "Nemo" fish in this tank and Spencer wanted a picture of it.
They fed the stingrays.
They fed the fish.
They posed for a picture.
I got in trouble for taking a picture of this octopus.  There were no signs posted but I was told it hurts their eyes if you take a picture.
Paisley liked the jelly fish.
Touching was fun.
Spencer really liked the eel.
After the aquarium, we went and hiked Ape Cave at Mt. St. Helens.  Then we went to Trail of Two Forests where this picture was taken of Spencer in a lava tube where the tree had died from the lava.
We also hiked the trail at Lava Canyon at Mt. St. Helens.  This was the suspension bridge.  We went there near dark and no one else was around.
We hurried home in time to stop at Sheridan's Ice Cream and enjoyed a fun treat.
It was a busy, fun day and I was thrilled to have Jason, Ashley, Paisley, Spencer, Audrey, and Emme here to visit.
