January 16, 2007 - snow in Vancouver, WA

I went to work in the morning today with no snow at my house. By the time I arrived at work in Portland just 40 minutes later, several inches of snow had fallen. I picked up work to do at the office and came home to find a winter wonderland at my house. The above picture is taken from my front door. The street is full of snow and it was still snowing at 10 a.m.
This is a picture of my back yard. I only went out to sweep the snow off of my satellite dish so I could keep updated on the weather and watch the news coverage for the road conditions.
This is a picture from my home office where I worked the rest of the day. The street was totally covered by snow behind me also.
This is another view of behind my house from my bedroom window on the second floor. Beautiful! Peaceful! What a relief to be home - warm and safe!

I'm originally from Portland, Oregon 55 yrs ago. Owned a home in Orchards, Wa. & moved to Littleton, Colorado in 94. I can't believe how much snow you all have had! I don't remember experiencing that amount in all the years I lived there. I DO remember the black ice though! Just went to google to take a look. ENJOY! I bet it was a beautiful CHRISTMAS!!
