Outside of Caiaphas' House (Jerusalem, Israel) 11/09

This is a picture of Charity standing at the doors of the current church there at the site of Caiaphas' house.
She looks so happy and cute in her pink sweater.
I'm so glad she was able and willing to make this trip with me.

These are the steps that Jesus walked up and down many, many times - up to the location of the Last Supper, down to the Garden of Gethsemane, etc. Jesus walked up and down these steps at least four times in his final couple of days. Charity is standing at the top of the stairs in the picture above.
In the picture below, you can see most of the stairway. Isn't it amazing as to how well the condition of the stairway has remained over so many years.....
Caiaphas' house is to the left of these stairs.

Charity and I walked on the same steps that Jesus did............ It is just amazing that I had this opportunity - a dream of a lifetime. I have been so blessed to have had this trip.

This picture above captures one event that was traditionally to have happened at this location. This would have happened right before they put Jesus in the prison in Caiaphas' house.

The picture below is the first sight when you depart from Caiaphas' house. This site is believed to be part of Caiaphas' house. Caiaphas was very wealthy and had a large home.
Remember, the houses in Jesus' day were made of white limestone - stone floors, stone walls, stone ceilings..... so different from today.
